{"id":32965,"date":"2022-02-27T23:25:48","date_gmt":"2022-02-27T21:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.e2.law\/?post_type=laws&#038;p=32965"},"modified":"2022-03-08T11:54:25","modified_gmt":"2022-03-08T09:54:25","slug":"gdpr-general-data-protection-regulation","status":"publish","type":"laws","link":"https:\/\/www.e2.law\/en\/laws\/gdpr-general-data-protection-regulation\/","title":{"rendered":"GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/HTML\/?uri=CELEX:32016R0679\">General Data Protection Regulation<\/a> is a European regulation that harmonizes the rules applicable to the processing of personal data in the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>It applies to any organization, public or private, that processes personal data on its own behalf or on behalf of a third party, provided that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>it is established on the territory of the Union; or<\/li>\n<li>its activity directly targets European residents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Its official title is <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/AUTO\/?uri=CELEX:02016R0679-20160504&amp;qid=1532348683434\">Regulation (EU) 2016\/679<\/a>\u00a0on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
