{"id":18932,"date":"2019-06-25T15:53:55","date_gmt":"2019-06-25T13:53:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.e2.law\/?p=18932"},"modified":"2023-08-18T14:08:06","modified_gmt":"2023-08-18T12:08:06","slug":"entry-into-force-of-the-new-code-of-companies-and-associations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.e2.law\/en\/2019\/06\/25\/entry-into-force-of-the-new-code-of-companies-and-associations\/","title":{"rendered":"Entry into force of the new Code of Companies and Associations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 30 April 2019, the Royal Decree of 29 April 2019 implementing the Companies and Associations Code was published in the Belgian Official Gazette.<\/p>\n<p>The new code, composed of 9 books and written in the spirit of simplifying the corporate landscape, came into force on 1 May 2019 and applies immediately to new legal entities from that date.<\/p>\n<p>For existing legal entities, a transition period has been set up. Except in the case where legal entities have decided to comply with the Code before (opt-in), the Companies and Associations Code will apply from 1 January 2020 as regards mandatory provisions.
