If the statutes so provide, associate members may be invited to attend the general meeting as well.<\/p>\n<p><em>For more information on the formalities for convening the General Assembly, please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.e2.law\/fr\/2021\/05\/21\/la-convocation-de-lassemblee-generale-dune-asbl\/\">our dedicated article<\/a> (in French).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default panel-d3143f78253246dc5 fusion-toggle-has-divider\" style=\"--awb-title-color:#333333;--awb-content-color:#747474;\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\" id=\"toggle_d3143f78253246dc5\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"d3143f78253246dc5\" role=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-43988-1\" data-target=\"#d3143f78253246dc5\" href=\"#d3143f78253246dc5\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box active-icon awb-icon-minus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><i class=\"fa-fusion-box inactive-icon awb-icon-plus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"fusion-toggle-heading\">required majorities<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div><div id=\"d3143f78253246dc5\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"toggle_d3143f78253246dc5\"><div class=\"panel-body toggle-content fusion-clearfix\"><\/p>\n<h2>Required majorities<\/h2>\n<p>In the absence of a statutory provision to the contrary, each member has one vote [1].<\/p>\n<p>At so-called<strong> &#8220;ordinary&#8221; meetings<\/strong>, i.e. annual general meetings at which the annual accounts are approved, decisions are taken by an absolute majority, except in cases where the statutes provide for stricter majorities.<\/p>\n<p>At so-called <strong>&#8220;extraordinary&#8221; meetings<\/strong>, decisions are taken either by a 2\/3 or 4\/5 majority of the votes, or sometimes unanimously, depending on the decision voted on.
